We joined community leaders and partners for the ribbon cutting of the Safer Boone for Everyone Quick-Build Street Project at the intersection of Boone Avenue and College Street.
Selected by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as one of only three communities in Kentucky to participate, Winchester was chosen to pilot this project on Boone Avenue, a state-maintained roadway, with the goal of improving safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.
As one speaker shared during today's event, this project is "a start to doing something." Over the next several months, the intersection will provide valuable insight into ways communities can create safer streets for everyone.
